Cosplay Policies

•Any real weapons are banned in the event area, functional or not.

•No explosives or fireworks of any kind.

•All Cosplayers are subject to inspection by event personnel, event security and/or police and must be approved before admittance to event.

•Do not bring any item(s) that could violate city, state, or federal law.

•No props, costume or accessory will receive pre-approval, all patrons will be inspected on site.

•Any patron not willing to be inspected will be ejected from venue.

•Weapons made of foam and cardboard are acceptable. Prop firearms are allowed provided they have bright tips and are subject to full inspection. Prop bows must have arrows with no tips and string may not be tightened.

No large bags, book bags, duffel bags, etc.

All props, cosplay costumes and accessories will be deemed agreeable at the sole discretion of event staff to include security personnel and/or police.

Any cosplayer with prop weapons will receive an approved wristband noting that their prop is approved and must wear wristband while attending event.

Tickets

You MUST have a ticket in order to enter Big Lick Comic Con.  They are available in advance at the venue box office, online or by phone.  
 

Tickets will be available day of event at the venue.  Tickets are non-refundable.

Re-Entry allowed at event  

Patrons will be given event wristband and must be wearing to re-enter, wristbands may not be broken, may not be shared.  Any patron re-entering will be subject to appropriate search. 

Prohibited Items

•Alcohol and illegal substances.

•Wheeled items (excluding mobility assistance devices).

•Revealing and/or offensive attire.

On Site Photography

•No flash or video photography of any panels.

•No photos are allowed in the celebrity guests area and or autograph/booth or photo op area or celebrity guests unless you have purchased a photo through an official celebrity handler or on site staff member.

Celebrity Guest & Official Photos FAQ

•PURCHASE OF AN OFFICIAL PHOTO OP DOES NOT INCLUDE ENTRY INTO THE EVENT.  THAT MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY.

•Up to 3 adults may be in a purchased photo – selfie, tableside or official photo

•Autographs are not sold in advance, they will be available for purchase first come first served at each guests’ booth.

•Guests reserve the right to sign or NOT sign items at their discretion.  Most guests provide a printed photo to be signed/personalized.

•  Official photo op purchase includes (1) printed 8×10 glossy photo.  For an additional $5 payable to photo op vendor you may receive a download file to be sent to you.  Please note a purchase of an official photo op is a very fast process to keep the line wait to a minimum.  The photo op typically lasts 20-30 seconds.  Our guests are available for most of the event times at their booths for conversation.

•Please keep track of your photo op time.  They will NOT be rescheduled if you miss your time.

Big Lick Comic-Con Cosplay Contest Rules & Guidelines

Adult Categories: Best Construction, Best Novice, Best Journeyman, Best Group, Best Family Cosplay, Best in Show, Masters

Contestants can only enter in one category, Individual or Group. Due to the unpredictable size of groups, a prize for each member cannot be guaranteed.

No skits on stage.

No nudity. No costume is no costume.

No profanity allowed on stage. That includes messages on signs or clothes. Anyone who violates this may be disqualified from the competition.

No political or religious statement on stage. Anyone who violates this may be disqualified from the competition.

Do not use any sort of projectile at all! Nothing must leave your person while you are on the stage. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area.

No flashpots, explosive devices, or similar special effects are to be used. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area.

All prop weapons must conform to the Guidelines.

Costumes will be judged on creativity, authenticity to character inspiration and originality to character, and realism.

Costumes must be self-contained.

Participants in the Cosplay Contest are not allowed to use unaltered store-bought, professionally made, or rented costumes. Store-bought, professionally made, or rented props, wigs, and/or costume pieces, however, are allowed.

Do not enter or exit the stage except at the designated points.

Each contestant may only enter one costume into competition.

Large elaborate costumes must be handled by the contestant and/or assistants the contestant brings to help. Big Lick Comic-Con will not be able to provide assistants.

Judges and Contest Director reserve the right to move a competitor to a different division or refuse to allow a competitor to compete if a costume is deemed offensive or against the rules.

COVID-19 Safety Acknowledgment — Liability Waiver and Release of Claims

COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION
While participating in events held or sponsored by Big Lick Entertainment LLC, (“Big Lick Comic Con”) “social distancing” must be practiced and face coverings worn at all times to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19.  Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, Big Lick Comic Con has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  However, Big Lick Comic Con cannot guarantee that its participants, volunteers, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.

In light of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, individuals who fall within any of the categories below should not engage in Big Lick Comic Con events and/or other face to face fundraising activities. By attending a Big Lick Comic Con event, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following categories:

1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others;

2. Individuals who have traveled at any point in the past fourteen (14) days either internationally or to a community in the U.S. that has experienced or is experiencing sustained community spread of COVID-19; or

3. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.

DUTY TO SELF-MONITOR:
Participants and volunteers agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath).

LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS:
I acknowledge that I derive personal satisfaction and a benefit by virtue of my participation with Big Lick Comic Con, and I willingly engage in Big Lick Comic Con events and/or other fundraising activities (the “Activity”).

RELEASE AND WAIVER
I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, AND DEMANDS OF WHATEVER KIND OR NATURE AGAINST BIG LICK ENTERTAINMENT LLC AND ITS AFFILIATED PARTNERS AND SPONSORS, INCLUDING IN EACH CASE, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THEIR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS (THE “RELEASED PARTIES”), EITHER IN LAW OR IN EQUITY, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES OR LOSSES CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE, FAULT OR CONDUCT OF ANY KIND ON THE PART OF  THE RELEASED PARTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DEATH, BODILY INJURY, ILLNESS, ECONOMIC LOSS OR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, OR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, WHICH I, MY HEIRS, ASSIGNEES, NEXT OF KIN AND/OR LEGALLY APPOINTED OR DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVES, MAY HAVE OR WHICH MAY HEREINAFTER ACCRUE ON MY BEHALF, WHICH ARISE OR MAY HEREAFTER ARISE FROM MY PARTICIPATION WITH THE ACTIVITY.
ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK.

I acknowledge and understand the following:
1. Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist;
2. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks related to illness and infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, even if arising from the negligence or fault of the Released Parties; and
3. I hereby knowingly assume the risk of injury, harm and loss associated with the Activity, including any injury, harm and loss caused by the negligence, fault or conduct of any kind on the part of the Released Parties.

MEDICAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND RELEASE
I acknowledge the health risks associated with the Activity, including but not limited to transient dizziness, lightheaded, fainting, nausea, muscle cramping, musculoskeletal injury, joint pains, sprains and strains, heart attack, stroke, or sudden death.  I agree that if I experience any of these or any other symptoms during the Activity, I will discontinue my participation immediately and seek appropriate medical attention.  I DO HEREBY RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM ANY CLAIM WHATSOEVER WHICH ARISES OR MAY HEREAFTER ARISE ON ACCOUNT OF ANY FIRST AID, TREATMENT, OR SERVICE RENDERED IN CONNECTION WITH MY PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITY.
As a participant, volunteer, or attendee, You recognize that your participation, involvement and/or attendance at any Big Lick Comic Con event or activity (“Activity”) is voluntary and may result in personal injury (including death) and/or property damage. By attending, observing or participating in the Activity, You acknowledge and assume all risks and dangers associated with your participation and/or attendance at the Activity, and You agree that: (a) Big Lick Entertainment LLC (b) the property or site owner of the Activity, and (c) all past, present and future affiliates, successors, assigns, employees, volunteers, vendors, partners, directors, and officers, of such entities (subsections (a) through (c), collectively, the “Released Parties”), will not be responsible for any personal injury (including death), property damage, or other loss suffered as a result of your participation in, attendance at, and/or observation of the Activity, regardless if any such injuries or losses are caused by the negligence of any of the Released Parties (collectively, the “Released Claims”). 

BY ATTENDING AND/OR PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTIVITY, YOU ARE DEEMED TO HAVE GIVEN A FULL RELEASE OF LIABILITY TO THE RELEASED PARTIES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.


Bootleg or Unauthorized Merchandise Policy

Big Lick Comic Con does not permit or condone the sale of bootleg or unauthorized merchandise at the show. The sale and/or display of ANY merchandise shall ONLY BE ALLOWED, where the merchandise has been approved by the license holder for the property depicted and does not infringe on copyright or trademark laws. Merchandise including but not limited to: video, digital, DVD’s, CD’s, and artist’s renderings in any form or format, must not violate the rights of the rights- holder to the property.

By attending the Con as an Exhibitor, or by purchasing a table space as an artist, you are agreeing to follow these guidelines and any violation may result in immediate expulsion from the convention without refund. Our event works with law enforcement authorities, licensees, and rights holders to act against the sale of bootleg and unauthorized merchandise at this event.

Failure to comply may additionally be subject to prosecution by local, provincial, and federal authorities who will be given full access to this event.

Bootlegging is described as the taking of established published artwork and or digital media and reproducing product for sale that is not owned.
